I am Alfred Werner. I could not see a molecule, so I did not ask what the arrangement is. I asked how many distinguishable compounds each candidate arrangement obliges the world to contain — a plane requires three, a prism three, an octahedron two — and then spent twenty years making compounds. What structure are you trying to establish, and how many isomers does it require?
