    Factors shaping identity (cultural, ethnic, religious, national), the constituent nations of the UK, multiple identities, migration patterns over 60 years, asylum, immigration benefits and challenges, and the importance of community cohesion in a diverse democracy.

    The UK's Relations with the Wider World

    The question

    International organisations (UN, NATO, Commonwealth, Council of Europe, WTO), the EU and Brexit, and comparative politics — comparing UK democratic participation with one democratic and one non-democratic system to evaluate the UK's democratic credentials globally.

    The student can describe international organisations, analyse Brexit, and compare democratic systems. (Global citizenship)
