Sensus intertexuntur velut rete ex nervis; cum atomi incidunt visui, motus propagatur ad omnes sensus ut undae in aqua. Memoria autem est impressio in contextu, non in uno loco sed per omnes conexiones dispersa. Unde eadem memoria pluribus locis revocatur, unaquaque conexione partem quandam totius servante.

English Translation

The senses interweave just like a network of nerves; when atoms strike the sight, movement propagates to all senses like waves in water. And memory is an impression in the weaving, not in one place but scattered through all the connections. Thus the same memory is recalled from many places, each connection preserving some part of the whole.

English: Learning is the strengthening of connections according to use; if the same experience passes through repeatedly, the bonds become stronger. And a new connection forms when a novel experience links previously unconnected places.
